My suggestion is for you to update your mod according to how Terraria did. This would not only keep you organized as you go down the checklist of features Terraria added when they added them, but it would also mean you would have functioning builds of your mod that are perfect recreations of official Terraria updates, but just in Minecraft. Also, some of the items that were adde such a mod has been attempted and abandoned so many times ever since terraria got popular. I really hope they get around to finishing it this time, alot of similar mechanics have been incorporated into minecraft and other mods since then (like massive bosses, corruption spread, alchemy, minions/familiars, npcs, etc), but it's just not the same as an actual 3d terraria.
